Connecticut plastic surgery

In addition to loosening of the skin of the face and neck, facial aging is accompanied by a loss of volume in the cheeks and lips.  Often times, this loss of volume results in an accentuation of wrinkles and folds.  The nasolabial folds (folds from the sides of the nose to the corner of the mouth) often become deeper as we age and are easily treated by facial fillers such as JUVEDERM® Injectable Gel.  Lips that have become smaller over time are also easily plumped up with JUVEDERM® Injectable Gel.  If you are a patient from Fairfield County, Connecticut (Greenwich, Danbury, Darien, Stamford, Norwalk, Westport, Fairfield) and are considering facial fillers to your nasolabial folds or lips, please contact the cosmetic surgery practice of Dr. Greenwald in White Plains, New York.

JUVEDERM® Injectable Gel: What Is It?

JUVEDERM® Injectable Gel is a hyaluronic acid-based injectable filler that fills irregular contours and wrinkles by supplementing the body's existing hyaluronic acid – a naturally occurring sugar. Patients typically enjoy the results of JUVEDERM® Injectable Gel for six to nine months, until the compound is naturally absorbed. Most physicians believe it lasts longer in some areas (nasolabial folds) as compared with other areas (lips). JUVEDERM® Injectable Gel is offered in three formulations that offer different benefits. After discussing their aesthetic goals with Dr. Greenwald, Dr. Greenwald will determine which formula is best for suited for correcting their problem.

JUVEDERM® Injectable Gel in  Fairfield County, Connecticut: Greenwich, Danbury, Darien, Stamford, Norwalk, Westport, Fairfield

Prior to your JUVEDERM® Injectable Gel injections, a topical anesthetic cream is applied to the areas to be treated such as the lips and nasolabial folds.  Cold compresses may also be applied to ensure your comfort.  Some patients may require a “dental block” that is similar to the anesthesia you receive at the dentist. Dr. Greenwald then carefully studies the patient's facial structure before choosing the proper injection sites. Once you are numb in the areas to be treated, the injection process is completed in minutes.  The results, in contrast to Botox® injections, are instantaneous.  After your JUVEDERM® Injectable Gel treatment, there may be a minor amount of swelling and an occasional bruise – both resolve typically within a few days. Bruising after JUVEDERM® Injectable Gel is rare; however, if aspirin or motrin-like products are used prior to your treatment, bruising will be more likely.  If you live in Fairfield County, Connecticut and would like to learn if facial fillers such as JUVEDERM® Injectable Gel are right for you, call or email our office to schedule your JUVEDERM® Injectable Gel consultation with Dr. Greenwald today at his White plains, New York cosmetic plastic surgery practice.
